Future of India

“My mission is to meet and “ignite” at least 100,000 students. So they dream of a new India filled with peace and development.”These are the words of our former president and leading scientist in India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.
Actually every Indian has a dream to see his India peaceful and developing and students are the best option to fulfill their dream. Therefore, each parents proud to see their children studying in a well-known institution and ready to spend all their money for better future of their ward or in other words “better future of India”. A lot of organizations and institutions are giving scholarships to provide financial help to those who are poor enough to continue their higher education.(Not to talk of how much of it is reaching to actual needy students.)
Indian Higher education system is third largest in the world, after China and US. It has about 20 central universities, 100 deemed universities, 215 state universities and 16000 colleges including 1800 women’s colleges. Its national budget on education is about 31,036 crore rupees(7.05 bl$). Its literacy rate has continuously increased from 18.33%(male;27.16% & female;8.86%) in 1951 to 64.84%(male;75.26% & female;53.63%) in 2001.
Indian government spends a lot of money on education and 80% of Indian schools are government-aided. However, because of poor quality of education, 27% of its children are privately educated. Pupil teacher ratio in government schools is 1:37 compared with 1:31 in private schools. Researchers say that private schools always provide better results, but these schools are fail to provide education to poor families. And everyone knows that more than 58% of India’s population is poor. So, quality education is away from about 45 crore people. I don’t know how much attention is our government paying to these families and how much serious is it about providing quality education in its schools.
Students’ Role in a developing Society
Development is a combined name of ‘mind power’, ‘money power’ and ‘muscle power’. Whenever these three powers are united in a single society we say the society is developing.
Mind power is most important element in these three. There are no uses of money and muscle powers if you don’t have mind power.
Students are the mind power of any society. So, they are to play a vital role to make society developing----It must be noted here that student means excellence and one who has understanding of what is happening in the society nearby. Also has an ability to lead the society in the right direction. It does not mean “information box” or one who has every type of knowledge and information but not able to take any stand according to his knowledge-----Alright, here the point is how much are they serious about their responsibilities?
You will be surprised to know that 65% students do not know why are they studying or what is education for? They study just because others are studying. A remarkable number of genius students prefer to work outside India to get better salary. Okay, working outside India and getting better salary is not bad, but to work for India and getting lower salary is far better than to work for others and getting good salary. Here, in India, students are told to secure higher marks in examinations not to run behind excellence that is the first characteristic of students and it comes through asking questions. One who learns more asks more. Asking a question shows symptom of creativity and excellence in students.“Your questions which remain unanswered by your teachers are more important than the questions you learn to answer in examinations….  To me the most important questions are ‘why’, ‘why not’, ‘what’ and ‘how’,” says Prof. MGK Menon, leading scientist and advisor to ISRO. But asking question is not a culture in India. Only 15% students ask questions of their own choice, says a report published in Punjab Kesari(10.12.2010). The survey found that students have heartily desire to see their teacher happy at any rate. They fear of cutting their marks if dare to ask a question against teacher’s will. In the survey, only 15% students admitted that they have courage to challenge teacher’s ideology.
Again, from another point of view, 63% urban students spend over an hour online daily in “useless” things. A good number of students waste more than two and half hour on ‘DHABA’ discussing on the matter of no use.
Remain unsleeping in night is very common among students. A report of ASSOCHAM says that 66% students carry mobile handset while going to schools, attending classes and tuition session and use their phones frequently in the classes for SMS. It further says that around 20 messages are sent by each student per day just to   say Hello and chat, while 56% of girls send almost 50 text messages every day. One can understand easily that how much attention will be paid on lecture while using phones for text messages.
This is one side of the coin. The second one is that there are some students who are for books only. They have nothing to do with what is happening in the society nearby.
The both characters are bad. We need reconciliation between both extremes. We neither do badly for our society nor will allow others to do bad for it.
Society Demands Justice
Do you know India is 87th corrupt country among 178 countries surveyed by Transparency International Report 2010? Indian “money mafias” has deposited 642 billion$ in Swiss bank, while BPL families are made to pay Rs.900 crore per year to get their fundamental rights as bribe.
Corruption and bribery have become a routine work in our society and people learn it faster than anything else. These words have become so familiar in India even among children.BBC World Service found that the most talked about topic this year among Indians was corruption. About 68%of people mention corruption as one of the most serious problems facing the world. Need not to go so far. Let’s start with recent corruption i.e. CWG corruption, Adarsh Housing Society corruption and the most talked about corruption in auction of 2G spectrum.
Now, let’s have a little talk of one of these three major corruptions. Take 2G for example. It resulted in loss of a mammoth 1,76,379 crore rupees  in national exchequer.
Recovery of these monies, unscrupulously looted, is not only to reassert public morality. This recovery is much needed to improve the livelihood of the vast mass of Indian people. It has been estimated that to provide all Indian families(APL&BPL) 35 kg of food grain at Rs. 3 a kilo, it would cost an additional food subsidy of Rs. 84,399 crores. The loot in 2G spectrum scam is nearly double of what is required to provide food security to all Indians. Or, for that matter, ‘Education for All’ is estimated by National Institution for Educational Planning and Administration(NIEPA) to cost Rs. 34,000 crore annually for the next five years or a total of Rs. 1.7 lakh crores. This is less than what has been looted in 2G spectrum scam. In fact, the scam accounts for nearly eight times the Rs. 22,300 crore health budget for this year.
This is merely an example showing how the reach are snatching rights of the poor. Is there anyone to fight for the right of weaker section of the society???
I am sure the society will see students coming forward to establish peace and justice not only in India but in the whole world in near future.

Money spent on CWG

Jaipal Reddy
Times of India
NEW DELHI: Seeking cooperation from all quarters for making the Common  Wealth Games a success, Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy on Monday said a total of Rs 28,054 crore have been spent on the games out of which Rs 16,560 crore was given to the Delhi Government for upgrading the capital infrastructure and building of various stadium.

Making an intervention during a debate in the Lok Sabha on the Commonwealth Games, Reddy said of the total of money given to the Delhi Government, only Rs 670 crore has been spent directly on the games -- on building stadium.

"The rest of the money has been spent on infrastructure development of the capital, which is not directly linked to the games," he said.

Giving a break-up of the money spent, the minister said, the Delhi Government has spent on various projects which includes Rs 650 crore for street scraping, Rs 900 crore for development bus depots, Rs 3,000 crore for extension of Metro, Rs 18,000 crore for augmenting DTC bus services and Rs 3,700 crore on flyovers and bridges.

Of the Rs 11,494 crore spent by the centre, Rs 2.934 crore was spent on sports infrastructure and Rs 678 crore on training of teams, while Rs 182 crore has been given to MTNL, Rs 827.85 crore to theMinistery of Urban Development, Rs 487.57 to Information and Broadcasting Ministry and Rs 747 crore to Health Ministry.

Reddy said the government has also given Rs 2,394 crore as loan to the organising committee, which is to be returned by them after the games.

Defending the huge amount of money spent, he said most of the money has been spent of infrastructure development which will remain as the country's legacy long after the games are over.

"If you furnish and paint your house before your daughter's wedding, then the money spent on that cannot be said to be part of the dowry," he said.

Appealing to all parties to come together and make the games a success, he said, "All of us, cutting across party lines, should rise to make the games successful and spectacular."

Asserting that Government will ensure that the corrupt are pursued to the "end of the earth", Reddy said, "we all know that the CVC and other constitutional bodies do their job, but if every primary observation is blown up to a scam, then we cannot function".

"I don't say that corruption has not taken place. No one can say that. All irregularities will be inquired into exhaustively," he said.

"I therefore say with confidence that we will be staging the best Commonwealth Games in history. Some people took the position that a country like India, which has a lot of poverty, should not have hosted the Commonwealth Games," the minister said, adding that though he begged to differ he respected their ideological position.

"But with only a month left, this should not be raised," he said.

Replying to BJP member Kirti Azad comparing him with Mahabharata epic character "Bhishm Pitamaha", Reddy said as of now he would like to be focused like Arjun.

Reassuring the House that the projects will be ready before the games, he said, "the event can be organised even now".

The Delhi Government has also spent Rs 400 crore on parking facilities, Rs 200 crore on communications and IT and Rs 2,000 crore on power plants, he said.

Reddy said most of the projects will be completed by August 31, barring the Barapullah Nallah project which would be over only by September.

Be aware of breast cancer

Breast cancer is one of the most commonest problems among women.Reports say that one in fourteen female children born will develop breast cancer in their lifetime.Sixteen per cent of women aged between 40-60 years have breast-related problems and complain of breast lumps.
Its increasing rate in our country is a sorrowfull news.According to a report, three thousand women get breast cancer every year only  in Delhi while one thousand women die of breast cancer.Women in Delhi and other metros are more prone to breast cancer than women in rural areas.
As the month of October has been observed for the national breast cancer awareness month, making common people know about causes and cure of breast cancer is our duty.
How it starts
Initially, breast cancer may not cause any symptoms. A lump may be too small for you to feel or to cause any unusual changes you can notice on your own. Often, an abnormal area turns up on a screening mammogram (x-ray of the breast), which leads to further testing.
In some cases, however, the first sign of breast cancer is a new lump or mass in the breast that you or your doctor can feel. A lump that is painless, hard, and has uneven edges is more likely to be cancer. But sometimes cancers can be tender, soft, and rounded. So it's important to have anything unusual checked by your doctor.
According to the American Cancer Society, any of the following unusual changes in the breast can be a symptom of breast cancer:
  • swelling of all or part of the breast
  • skin irritation or dimpling
  • breast pain
  • nipple pain or the nipple turning inward
  • redness, scaliness, or thickening of the nipple or breast skin
  • a nipple discharge other than breast milk
  • a lump in the underarm area.

"No temple was demoleshed for constructing the mosque"

That the court judgment on Ayodhya has finally been delivered and the initial reactions from all sections strike a distinct note of reconciliation is welcome.
The verdict says that the disputed land of 2.77 acers is to be divided eqally among the two Hindu plantifs, the Nirmohi Akhara and and The Bhagwan Shri Ram Birajman, the deity ragarded as a jurisdic as a jurisdic person that can own the property, and the Sunni Waqf bBoard. The portion of the inner courtyard where the central dome of the Babri Masjid stood before its demolition and where the makeshift temple now exist is to be given to Hindus. The rest of the area where the Babri Masjid stood, including part of the inner courtyard and some part of the outer courtyard, is to be alloted to the Waqf Board. The Nirmohi Akhara is to be alloted the building that sttod in the outer courtyard of the premises, including Ram Chabutra and Sita Rasoi, while it is to share the unbuilt area of the outer courtyard with Bhawan Shri Ram Birajman.

This is a Panchayat-Style decision to hold the religios peace rather than an exercise of legal reflection."this is a political decision not a court decision." says a senior advocate of SC.
Jistice S.U.  Khan and Justice Sudhir Agrwal has declared that no temple was demolished for constructing the mosque and the verdict is "as per faith and belief of Hindus."
I was tought earliar that court knows nothing except evidwnce and proof. But now, it has started to pronounce its decision on the base of someone's faith and belief. Then, Why is SATI-PRTHA legally banned?BALI should too because it is the best way to make angry goddess happy.AND the more important thing is:why was the Muslim faith not considered??They also believe that where the mosque has been built once the place will be sacred forever.

"Ramjanmabhoomi disputed site, divided into three '

In a landmark decision by the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court on the disputed site in Ayodhya, Ram's birthplace declared.
High Court majority decided that the disputed land is considered Aramjanmebhumi, gave it to Hindu groups. From there the statue of Ram lalla not be removed.
But the court also found that the parts on which Sita Ram platform and includes the kitchen, Nirmohi arena is also occupied part so it will remain near Nirmahi arena.
Two judges gave the decision of the court that the land on parts of the Muslim prayers are therefore a third of land given to Muslim factions.
Full three-judge special bench of the full decision is about ten thousand pages.
One third for Sunni waqf board
The three judges has dismissed the appeal of Central Waqf Board  because it was filed after time limit.Still, two judges, Justice SU Khan and Justice Sudhir Agarwal, considered Sunni Waqf Board as a third party.
Judges considered that the statues of Lord Rama were held on 22/23 December 1949 in the disputed mosque. It is believed that Babur built the mosque or on his orders was the birth place of Lord Rama.
The court has also considered how the ASI excavations have found remains of a huge ancient Mender, and  the mosque was built upon its Residue. But the three judges differed weather old temple were broken. To facilitate sharing of land acquired by the central government would include 70 acres of land. Ground for sharing trial are invited suggestions from all parties, after which the court will make the final decree. The center will remain status quo at the disputed site. Meanwhile, Sunni Waqf board has anounced to appeal to the Supreme Court. Beware of rumors: Manmohan Singh Afterdecision the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati has appealed to people to keep peace. She said that the disputed 67 acres of land is in central government custody, therefore the responsibility of implementation of the decision is upon the Centre itself. She said, "I have written a letter to Prime Minister in this matter." "Victory or defeat may not see as'  Not to be desperated by the dicision,Need not to take to street, two judges has believed that there was a mosque on the place but.............so, we will go to SC."said Zafaryaab jilani, lawer of Sunni Waqf Board.
Former U.P Chief Minister Kalyan Singh welcomed the decision but said that if land is not divided, so good. RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat said that the decision is not to be seen as victory or defeat. While other leader of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad Giriraj Kishore said that Muslims should hand over the case in Mathura and Kashi. Appeal for calm Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Home Minister P Chidambaram has urged all parties to keep the peace.

After Ramadhan

Ramadhan is a training season for Muslims. It teaches Muslims how to expand the rest eleven months of the year.Prophet Mohammad(PBUH) said:One who didn't away from lie Allah is nothing to do with his fasting. It contains in its meaning that when a Muslim is ready to lie in next eleven months he must remember that he had been taught in the month of Ramadhan not to lie and so on.
Now we've gone through The Holy Month--training season--and intered into the months where we are to show whatever we've learnt from Ramadhan. So,be ready and prove that you have gained a lot from the month.May Allah bless you!
