APCR offers 5 lacs to rehabilitate Mohd. Amir

Mohd Aamir receiving cheque from Ameer JIH

“Everyone knows how a prisoner leads his life in prison, but how many of us are aware of how his family suffers. 14 years back, I left my parents in good health. I was having a house of my own. But when I returned back after being released innocent by the court, there was neither my father nor my house. My mother got paralyzed and suffered brain hemorrhage. ”, said Mohd. Aamir after being released innocent after 14 years of detention. Mohd. Aamir was speaking in an honor ceremony organized by Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR).
“A lot of people are ready to offer their services in these types of cases like advocates ND Pancholy and Naeem Khan Ghazi, the two counsel of Mohd Aamir. What we need to do is to point them out and provide them a plateform.”, said Syed Jalaluddin Umari, Ameer Jama’t-e-Islami Hind.
To know, Mohd Aamir was picked up or kidnapped in his words from Azad Market Delhi on 20th Feb.1998. Then he was 18. Later, the police brought him in Tees Hazari court on 28th Feb 1998 and charged him with 19 cases of different bomb blasts in Delhi and outside Delhi. But the police was unable to provide proper evidences and the Civil Court of Rohtak released him innocent on 9th Jan 2012.
APCR decided to help him in his rehabilitation programme and offered him a cheque of worth 5 lacs rupees. “It was government’s duty to compensate me and help me rehabilitate because I’m released innocent. But neither government nor any of Muslim organizations helped me. APCR is the first organization that came forward and thought of my rehabilitation.” Said Mohd Aamir after receiving the cheque.
To say, APCR is a wing of JIH which provides legal guidance and help to the common people and makes them aware of their Civil Rights. It has more than 2000 members in different parts of the country.”About 250 victims have been released innocent with the help of APCR.”, says Akhlaque Ahmed, coordinator APCR.
Though, Aamir has been released innocent AFTER 14 YEARS IN JAIL, but his aim and his passion have almost been crushed. He can hardly rehabilitate. And what about those Aamirs who are still waiting for their releasing innocent???
